Apple has introduced a new display technology for tha MacBook pro called pro led XDR. The New Screen Uses tandem OLED technology and adds touch support, making it a major change for Apple's professional laptops.
What is PROLED XDR?
The PROLED XDR display uses two OLED layers to produce bright highlights, deep black and detailed images. unlike traditional backlit displays, OLED pixels can light up individually , helping improve contrast and reduce the glowing effect around bright objects on dark backgrounds.
according to Apple's specifications the display offer a peak brightness of upto 2000 nits and a contrast of 10000000:1 it also supports P3 and Adobe RGB colour gamuts, which are useful for video editing, photography and graphic design.
The Screen now supports touch
One of the biggest change is the addition of touchscreen to the mackbook pro. user can scroll, zoom, draw and intract with content directly an the display. this could be useful for designers, developers and video editors who want more direct control over their worl.however, the touchscreen does not replace the keyboard and trackpad. it adds another way to interact with the laptop.
PROLED XDR vs Liquid Retina XDR
The new PROLED XDR display uses tandem OLED technology, while the liquid retina XDR display uses mini LED Backlighting. The PROLED XDR model offers a higher peak brightness of 2000 nits, compared with 1600 nits for HDR content on the liquid Retina XDR model. it also supports a wider range of colours through P3 and adobe RGB.
These diffrances matter most to people working with HDR videos, colour-sensitive projects and professional visual content. For everyday browsing emails and office work, the older display may still be more than sufficient.
